Abstrakt
Authors in letter to editor comment on two cases of gunshot suicide. The first sucide was comitted with a shotgun.
At the place of death, the gunshot wound was misdiagnosed as a stab-like wound of the upper abdomen. In the second case the gusnhot wound was caused by a home made firing mechanism.
The entrance wound was located in the middle of the forehead. Both case demonstrated that illegaly modified of home made firearms and the resultant injuries pose a number of forensic challanges strating from the death scene, continuing with ballistic analysis and concluding with detemination of cause and manner of death.
