Abstract

The article is mainly focused on measures of substantive significance (called effect sizes). The article emphasize that the main problem in data analysis is too big impact on statistical significance of results and nearly no focus on substantive significance of results.

At the beginning author tries to define substantive significance. Next part of the article summarizes scientific discussion about the substantive significance and it's measures (lasting in the last 75 years) and tries to continue this discussion (show special types of effect sizes for statistical techniques which are not very common).

The article also covers the topic of economic and clinical significance. The final conclusion tries to find synthesis of different concepts of significance and recommend practical usage of these concepts.
