Abstract

Nowadays the aortic stenosis is the most frequent valve disease in adults. Excellent results are achieved by current surgery of aortic stenosis.

If it were not for some disadvantages of mechanical prosthesis or bioprosthesis it would be an almost ideal method of treatment. Unfortunately with increasing age of the patients and with increasing number of comorbidities the operative mortality is exponentially rising.

This is the main reason, why these patients are not indicated to surgery. TAVI is the great hope for such patients.
