Abstract

The author characterizes personal psychology and developmental psychology as basic psychological disciplines and presents different domestic and foreign conception of these fields. He delimits the domain of personality psychology towards its boarder disciplines which are first of all general psychology and differential psychology.

He sums up briefly the history of personality psychology, deals with the personality development in conceptions of Sigmund Freud and Eric Erikson, presents different conceptions and approaches in personality, the structure perspective of personality, problems of conflicts, the humanistic perspective of personality, namely the human centered approach of Carl Ransom Rogers, different approaches is personality psychology and gives the overview of its methods. He presents the overview of the topics in the field.

Developmental psychology is presented as both theoretical and applied discipline. The author briefly mentions different contemporary conceptions, definitions of the field, its subject, and methods, he deals with the history of developmental psychology, and the key problems in defining the periods of mental development.

He presents relatively extensive both domestic and foreign bibliography covering both the disciplines.
