Vietnamese are often associated in the minds of the majority population with the business and retail activities. However, a significant part of them work in employment sector.
The largest concentration of Vietnamese is at the border with Germany and then in big cities, especially in Prague. On the basis of relevant studies ( eg, Cermak, Janská 2011) we can say that the concentration of foreigners is much higher than that of the majority population, even that the concentration of Vietnamese by Ginni coeficient has been decreasing since 2001. It is probably due to the expansion of its business activities outside the districts bordering with Germany, where is stronger purchasing power of the Germans.
The most significant movement influencing the spatial distribution of foreigners is international and internal migration. The most common reasons for changing residence are the labor reasons and higher earnings.
