Abstract
The current distribution of foreigners in Czechia is a result of interna- tional migration, as well as subsequent internal migration. While international migration played a decisive role in the distribution of foreigners until the beginning of the global crisis, internal migration is now becoming the more important of the two.
Studies of internal migration cannot ignore foreigners. Foreigners not only exhibit a higher intensity of movement, they also have different preferences and directions.
Prague is certainly gate- way city for foreign immigrants, but it also plays an important role in their subsequent movement.
