Ukraine in the Czech foreign policy

Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |
2014

Abstract

The chapter discusses Czech-Ukraine relations in 2013. It argues that while the Eastern Partnership countries belong to declared priorities of Czech foriegn policy, in the EU the Czech Republic does not belong to key players in this policy domain.

The mere fact that Ukraine as the biggest East European state has in the long-term (till 2013) not attracted much attention of Czech foreign policy makers suggests that there are limits to the Czech determination to contribute to crucial reforms in the region and its deeper EU integration.
