Abstract

Technological and typological analysis of chipped stone material found on a rock spur close to Vladislav village in SW Moravia was carried out. The coring technology and typology of tools, along with the prominent situation of the site, indicate Late Palaeolithic origin of the assemblage.

Use of local raw materials and low degree of artifacts'weathering in comparison with chipped stone assemblages from two Late Palaeolithic sites in the vicinity, however, show relatively younger age of the assemblage. Occupation of the site at the end of the Younger Dryas period or during the Late Pleistocene/Early Holocene boundary thus seems most probable.
