The development of subjective evaluation of somatic and cognitive symptoms after TBI

Abstract

The consequences of traumatic brain injury (TBI) are dependent on the type of injury, extent of lesions etc. Questionnaire evaluation of the basic features of the development for the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with a history of TBI provides information about its subjective perception of somatic status, cognition, emotional experience etc.

Based on these findings can be controlled further care and rehabilitation process of the patient. Basic trends symptoms questionnaire Rivermead Post Concussion Symptoms Questionnaire showed that most patients after TBI feel between the first and second year after the injury.

In the period up to one year and over two years after the event, the assessment of symptoms range RPCSQ roughly coincide, i.e. patients feel significantly worse symptoms of cognitive impairment, especially in the area of memory (forgetfulness), concentration and thinking, but also emotional experiences (depression, irritability, frustration) and partly physical problems (fatigue, blurred vision, inner restlessness).
