Abstract

Vaccination is highly effective preventive measures, demonstrating over many decades, its major population impact, since in addition to chlorination among the most effective preventive measures in history. The greatest success of vaccination is to eradicate smallpox (variola).

The successful worldwide vaccination program, which also participated in important Czech epidemiologists, led to the complete destruction of the disease, called eradication, and the subsequent cessation of vaccination. Significant successes were achieved even in control of measles and polio.
