Stay and the training in high altitude within the range of approximately three weeks is documented in the detail and there is an agreement on its positive effect, but the literature is talking only marginally about the influence of a ten day stay and training in high altitude areas (1 850m a. s. l). Our text summarizes main results of our repeated researches of the influence of these shortened stays on biochemical parameters (haemoglobin concentration, haematocrit, red blood cell count) and morning rest heart rate.

Three tests were completed, a day before, a day after and ten days after trainings altitude trainings camp. The day after the altitude camp was found out the higher figure of selected biochemical variables than the day before the beginning of the camp.

Ten days after return to the low land we found out no significant decrease of all values. The rest hearth rate at the end of the camp was higher, but after 10 days of return the heart rate was lower than before the camp.

The study with a group of young sportsmen (juniors, n=17) has shown positive effects of a 10-day training camp in high altitude areas on monitored parameters.
