Abstract
At the beginning of the 20st century a new profession, social work, was established but not fully accepted. Social work had to distinguish themselves from other professions with longer traditions and to enforce the requirment that social work is evaluated as a professional performance and that social workers were classified into categories corresponding to their education.
For this purpose, a professional association of social workers, Organizations of social workers was established.
