Its actual efficacy and subsequent positions in the therapeutic armamentarium UC will require a randomized placebo-controlled trials. However, the fact that the substance is the human body's own, and considering the very good tolerability of the preparation, can already be considered its use in patients with proctitis or left-sided UC who do not respond adequately to conventional treatment of oral or rectal administration.
