Objective: The Bicycle Drawing Test (BDT) is used in neuropsychological assessment to evaluate visuoconstructive and executive functions. It is simple to administer and does not take more than a couple of minutes.

However, it is not commonly used in the Czech Republic. One of the reasons may by the lack of validation studies and normative data.

A more widespread method, the Clock Drawing Test, has been shown to have low sensititvity in identifying mild cognitive impairment. The aim of our work is to validate BDT for older Czech adults and establish preliminary norms.

Participants and Methods: The task is administered to patients with MCI, probable AD, FTLD and cognitively healthy odler subjects (over 60 years). Data collection is in process and the final count of subjects will be cca 200.

Drawings will be evaluated according to two different scoring systems (Lezak, 2004 and Greenberg, 1994) by four independent raters. The MoCA is used to assess overall cognitive status of subjets.

In this communication, we present provisional results. Results: Inter-rater reliability for two different scoring systems will be assessed.

Validity of the results for different clinical groups will be established in comparison to the control group. Second part of the analysis will be concerned with establishing preliminary normative data for different age and education groups.

Conclusion: In this work, we attempt to show the agvantages of BDT in neuropsychological diagnostics of cognitive impariment, namely during early stages of neurodegenerative diseases, and we hope to introduce an alternative to CDT.
