Abstract

Pes equinovarus (PEQ) belongs among the most frequently occurring congenital deformities of the locomotive apparatus. Following the initial surgical treatment of of PEQ cases, we used to correct any residual adduction of the forefoot by basal osteotomy of the 1st -5th metatarsal bones (Berman, Gartland), until 2011.

From 2011 onwards, we switched to double tarsal osteotomy (Fowler - Durham) and prolongation osteotomy of medial cuneiform bone along with basal osteotomy of the 2nd to 5th metatarsal bone.
