Evaluation of psychomotor development by football players in the category U12 using two forms of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition (BOT-2)

Abstract

The aim of the study is to verify the psychomotor development of a selected group of football players in the U12 category the highest performance level in the Czech Republic, using two forms of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition. The research sample consisted of 20 patients from the same team.

To detect the level of psychomotor test battery was used Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT-2). Data processing psychomotor development took place in the ASSIST program, which is designed just for psychomotor test.

The monitored parameters were fine bike, manual coordination, body coordination, strength and agility, and complex motor skills. Results of the study described psychomotor development group selected category U12 footballers, which were then compared with the given standards test.

The results show that 12 players reached the average result for the remaining 8 players were assessed as above average. The study then focused on comparing the two forms of the test.

The first form of test is called the Short Form. Short Form for faster test administration and its subsequent evaluation.

In contrast, the second form of the test, Complete Form is much more demanding administrative action, where test subjects undergo complete set of test. When comparing the final results of the Short Form and Form Complete assessment difference was observed in 5 cases.
