Abstract
The article describes the main characteristics of dementia syndrome. The most common diseases manifesting themselves with dementia syndrome are discussed, along with their diagnostics and treatment.
Alzheimer's disease is the most frequently occurring dementia in general, and that is why its neuropathology and therapy are specifically mentioned.
