The international workshop within the EUNAD project took place from 30th to 31st of October in the seat of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. The subject was needs of people with auditory or visual handicap in disasters.
The workshop was part of a two years old project EUNAD, which are experts form European countries and Israel cooperating on. The project focuses on implementation and preparation of programmes of assistance to disabled persons who survived a disaster.
The aim of this project is to improve procedures and communication of intervening policemen, firemen, medics and psychosocial workers working with people with visual or hearing defect, not only in emergency or disaster, but also in following treatment.
