Abstract
Contemporary European gastric cancer treatment guedelines recommend a short course of perioperative chemotherapy. This is supported by sveral randomized studies in which patients with perioperative chemotherapy had longer overall survival and better results in other parameters too.
The analysis of surgical therapy is given in this article. According to published data, in some patients extend of the surgery did not fulfill the requirements of contemporary surgical standards of care.
