Prague, Vienna and Budapest: Significant Destinations for Urban tourism

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2014

Abstract

Prague, Vienna and Budapest are similar cities historically, culturally and architecturally. And while their shared history has given them similar conditions for tourism development, the actual intensity of tourism is different in these cities.

Of the three, Prague is the destination with the highest volume of tourism. A higher number of tourists, however, does not necessarily equate to positive development.

It could negatively impact the local community and surrounding area, as well as the quality of tourism itself.
