Adverse effects of biological therapy in rheumatology

Abstract

Biological treatment is currently the most effective treatment for the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases as well (ankylosing spondylitida, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis). It can lead to development of serious adverse effect, particularly infections, including exacerbation of latent tuberculosis.

It is essential to monitor them actively, to treat them and to prevent them, if possible
