Abstract

Monograph systematically maps ethical problems in medicine at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The publication is divided into five thematic units.

The first analyzes the ethical issues at the level of general and historical context. The issues are discussed in the current context of ethics in medicine and health care in general, but also in the wider historical, but also legal and psychological implications.

The second part deals with ethical issues, which stands on the edge of research and clinical work. The third and fourth part discusses a clinical state of ethics and ethical challenges expected in various clinical fields.

The final section discusses some special issues - such as the issue of death and dying, dehumanization in medicine and other important questions. Publication as a whole represents a large and relatively comprehensive reflection on the state of ethics at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The monograph follows the publication Ethics and communication in medicine issued in 2011 in Grada Publishing.
