Council Directive 2010/32/EU focuses on methods of prevention and post-traumatic intervention steps that follow the puncture wounds health workers in health care. Implementation of this directive into Czech legislation raises debate over issues that burdened health care facilities.
International conference in Prague in autumn was attended representatives of European countries that Directive already in national legislation fully included. The aim is to minimize the risk of puncture wounds, even though they can not be completely prevented.
Establish periodic educational programs, monitor the incidence of stab injuries, provide devices with safety equipment, encourage reporting of stab injuries, post-traumatic interventions to unify the procedures, ensure the safe disposal of contaminated sharp objects, enough of the right personal protective equipment, and so on.
