Abstract

We report 5 cases of chronic osteomyelitis of the tibia metaphyseal that were treated successfully by medulloscopy. Medulloscopy is a arthroscopic technique for visualizing the intramedullary canal.

Two portals were created to allow easy access to the lesion. First we take samples for tissue cultivation than debridement and resection of the sequestrum followes than we fill the space with local carrier antibiotics.

All cases were treated successfully with medulloscopy. No patient had a postoperative infection development.

In addition, there were no complications related to the procedure.
