Examination of visual evoked potentials in patients after methanol poisoning

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2014

Abstract

The paper reports on results of visual evoked potentials examination in a group of 47 patients who survived acute poisoning due to methanol. The potential could not be elicited in three patients because of complete blindness, abnormal in 17 patients and normal in 27 patients.

The occurrence of the abnormality showed significant correlation with pH and borderline correlation with blood concentration of methanol at admission.
