The role of Christian eschatological images and their representation in monasterial architecture of New Spain in the 16th century

Abstract

The text focuses on question if the Christian eschatological images had an influence upon the conquest and colonization of America in the 16th century. On the example of New Spain and its monasterial architecture explains how the image of the last things of men were represented and perceived.
