Comparison of cytokine production by immunocompetent cells from buffy coats and mesenchymal stem cells cultured on the titanium surface

Abstract

Biomaterials for implantation into bone are most often tested on cells of the binder system, which represent the receiving tissue. The rejection of the implant are responsible immune cells.

Titanium surfaces of activated mononuclear cells isolated from buffy coat of healthy blood donors to the formation of a whole range of cytokines which play a role both in the activation and regulation of immune responses. Mesenchymal stem cells HMSC-bm representatives are connective tissue cells and, unlike cell lines are capable of producing some interkeukiny constitutively without previous stimulation.

HMSC-bm compared to immunocompetent cells produce buffy coat other spectrum of cytokines and chemokines, and often at a lower dose. Both cell types produce cytokines IL-10, IL-16, MIP-1b and RANTES TIMP-2.
