Mediterranean imports at the Třísov oppidum Finds from surface surveys with metal detectors, conducted in 2007-2013

Abstract

The paper discusses the lot of mediterranean imports, which have been unearthed during metal-detector prospections carried out in the area of the oppidum of Třísov. The collection of objects presented here includes fragments of metal vessels, several personal objects and a republican bronze coin.

The objects are studied from the typological and chronological point of view and in the end evaluated as a whole together with the imports discovered already during the excavations from the 1950s-1980s. In the conclusions the authors discuss the rle of southern imports in settlement itslef and in the economic contacts of the central European oppida.
