Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2014

Abstract

The article informs about the results of work with collections of musical instruments from various institutions. The first section describes the main tasks connected with creating and managing collections of musical instruments with possible solutions from the organological perspective (the science of musical instruments).

The second section provides a summary of information from visits to the six depositories of five museums of Moravian-Silesian Beskydy and Javorniky Mountains. The third section deals with the edge-blown aerophones of folk production from all collections in more detail.

It brings new information on studied items, and in well-arranged tables it also provides summaries with descriptions focused on typological characteristics.
