Abstract

The contribution denies the appropriateness to name the literature of authors, that immigrated to Germany, which is written in German, as migrant literature It is worked out that there is necessarily associated with this term an inappropriate connection of literary texts to the biography of their authors. In a reading of Libuse Moníková's novel "Pavane for a Dead Infanta" ("Pavane für eine verstorbene Infantin"), in contrast, it is made clear that this book it primarily deals with the design of an other and new Europe.

This further intentions of texts of migrants are described in the horizon of the model of cultural memory respectively a "general memoria".
