Publication

Abstract

Summaries of the review is focused on CRC screening by FIT - immunochemical detection of occult blood in the stool. We analyzed 152 scientific publications published during the last 5 years ( 2008-2013) and This presentation summarizes the experience of European countries.

Spanish multicenter , prospective studies on 5,595 people ( Int J Cancer . 2013) showed that perform two tests increase diagnostic accuracy , but it will increase the price , number of colonoscopies required and the number of lesions found. Found optimal cut-off of 115 ng / ml.

Scottish studies in sending one cartridge OC -Sensor 66 225 persons aged 50-74 ( J Clin Pathol . 2013) showed high return assay - 60.6% and that the concentration of N- Hb is related to the severity and stage of CRC , while in relation to the size of the lesions. Irish studies with mail sending out two tests OC -Sensor 9704 persons aged 50-74 years ( Colorectal Dis. 2013) should return 52% and showed that if a test is only one percent of unrecognized cancers 17.6 % and cancer , including advanced adenomas 30 %.

A German study (Eur J Cancer . 2013) compared the reliability of ELISA FIT tests with detection of Hb and Hb / HPT and automated analysis with OC -Sensor with which demonstrated the highest detection of neoplasia , 73.3 % for CRC and 25.7 % for advanced adenomas. Slovenian study (Eur J Cancer Prev. 2013) on a set of 9,189 persons aged 65-69 years who were sent by mail two sampling cassette MagStream HT should return kits, 90.8 % , 7.4 % positivity , adenoma detection rate 53.8 % and 73.3 % CRC was found in Dukses stage I or II.

A French study ( Gastroenterology. 2013) analyzed a group of 19,797 persons aged 50-74 years , who conducted three tests in three stands - guaiac test , MagStream and OC Sensor, which showed the highest reliability and the highest apprehension of persons with CRC .
