The aim of the work was to establish the character of RAGE serum content and its synthesis by monocytes during endometriosis in dependence on disease degree and reproductive function of patients for elucidation of the immune mechanisms of endometriosis and endometriosisassociated infertility development. 80 women with external genital endometriosis and 16 healthy fertile women (control group) were recruited into the study. Serum level of RAGE was assessed by ELISA, RAGE mRNA expression in population of CD14+ monocytes was estimated by real time PCR.

It was established that the serum level of RAGE was increased in general group of women with endometriosis; this increase was associated with the stage of endometriosis and infertility state. mRNA RAGE expression by monocytes was also increased in women with endometriosis and in women with endometriosis accompanied by infertility. Success of the surgical treatment of infertility and IVF in patients with endometriosis was associated with initially low level of serum content of RAGE.
