Abstract
Newborn birth injuries can affect both short-term and especially the long-term quality of child's life. Forms of birth traumatism are presented with the fact that some traumas have permanent consequences.
The authors provide an overview of the most common contemporary forms of birth traumatism using the results of their work from a period that started on October 1, 2009 and ended October 1, 2010. The overview is a result from their own experience which is compared to some important literary figures on traumatisms, which didn't appear in their data bases.
They state that there is a general decrease of the birth rate traumatism, and at the same time in its severity. This fact is caused by the high level of perinatal care units in the Czech Republic
