Abstract
Fentanyl buccal tablets are good therapeutical modality in the treatment of breakthrough pain in cancer patients. Meets all the criteria for safe and rapid treatment of intense episodes of breakthrough pain.
Treatment with buccal tablets is safe, well-tolerated with minimal side effects. Sa- fety and efficacy has been repeatedly evaluated in patients receiving opioids in several clinical trials.
Using this treatment, it is possible and safe to use also in patients with oral mucositis.
