Abstract

The current AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) and ATA (American Thyroid Association) guidelines recommend to treat patients with persistently elevated TSH GREATER-THAN OR EQUAL TO 10 mIU/l and persistently decreased TSH <0.1 mIU/l. Treatment of mild hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.1-0.4 mIU/l) and mild hypothyroidism (TSH <10 mIU/l) is matter of controversy.
