Abstract

The book deals with both selected theoretical issues of word formation in pre-classical and classical French in the 16th and 17th centuries (periodization, lexicalization, suffixal competition, productivity) and a number of specific problems of suffixal derivation in the given period. It also provides several case studies on the given topic.
