CLIL is a methodology, which integrates teaching/learning of foreign language and other subject at the same time. CLIL makes great demands on teachers, because the methodology is not yet fully developed and there is lack of materials.
More to that CLIL is often taught by a teacher either with qualification only in subject or by a teacher with qualification only in language. The qualification influences teaching and how the teacher deals with aspects of CLIL.
The work describes some problematic aspects of translating word problems from Czech to English in integrating mathematics and English. The work was written on the basis of a research among secondary school teachers of different teaching qualifications.
Problematic aspects are divided into three parts - cultural aspects, types of translating and mistakes and differences between Czech and English.
