The presented article discusses the history of volleyball in YMCA organization, which did a lot for spreading and popularizing of this game in Czechoslovakia. Teams of YMCA used to have an extraordinary place among other volleyball teams in Czechoslovakia.
The differences were sufficiency of money for building courts and sufficient equipment (e.g. balls and nets) the other teams were missing. The sport officials of YMCA organization were among founders of the very first Czechoslovakian volleyball federation.
Teams of YMCA played a lot of international matches in these years nevertheless none of them became republic champion. The extraordinary place started to be lost with upcoming 2nd World War when YMCA organization started to restrict its activity.
