Abstract

This chapter discusses the Landfried, which means earth peace, Latin Constitutio Pacis, instituta pax, pax also Jurata) was a term denoting an agreement administrative units within a country of peace. First appeared in Germany in the 12th century.

The purpose of these agreements was the protection of public order, were directed against violence, robbery and private wars, and linked to the peace project of Jiří of Poděbrady.
