The Protection Status of the Ukrainian State Border and the Illegal Transit Migration Process: The Socio-Political Aspects - Part I

Abstract

The geographical situatedness on the Eurasian continent determines present Ukraine to become a major corridor of process of illegal transit migration. This state is also supported by the situation on the Ukrainian state border, which is characterized by poor security, particularly in the individual section of Ukrainian-Russian and Ukrainian-Belorussian borders.

The result of this situation is illegal transit cross border migration, especially into the EU.
