Formalization of the Methods for Conformity Assessment among the Information Systems in Medicine and the Integration Patterns

Abstract

The aim of the research is the formalization of methods for assessing the conformity of the proposed method of integration with selected patterns due to current and anticipated requirements and level of maturity of each IS. The research work focuses specifically on the integration of medical information systems (IS), use of standards like HL7, IHE and more.

The aim of the project is to select and optimize suitable integration patterns so as to cover the difference of complexity between the implementation based on standard HLv3 and the real medical implemented IS. The choice of design patterns is likely to be determined by current and expected requirements of medical information systems in the country.

The benefits of the research project should be adding a further perspective on building integration architecture the use of the term maturity level of the existing infrastructure and the use of maturity models as an additional input. Selection and implementation of a particular model varies according to the level of maturity of the environment.

The main aim of research is to build on existing research and develop a formal method for the conformity assessment among particular IS integrations and one or more appropriate integration patterns. The method can be considered successful if its use increases the relative frequency of successful integration of the proposed example comparing to the positive business cases.

The proposed method is likely to have a certain level of accuracy and completeness of the input, since the direction of the development of architectures and their integration in general recognize a butterfly effect at the time.
