Abstract

This chapter of the collective monograph analyses the story of Czech family of entrepreneurs, the Bächers, and their firm manufacturing agricultural machinery, largely ploughs, in Roudnice nad Labem. It illustrates clearly how much ability and work was needed to turn a larger engineering workshop of local importance into an industrial enterprise of world name and renown.
