Abstract

The final chapter brings a facit of an extensive work conceived as professional discourse between history and literary scholarship. It points to transformations of the farmer's role in the evolution of the ruralist literature.

It identifies differences between Czech and German frontier literature and their correlations. It reminds us with much urgency that fiction is an irreplaceable historical source (identity, mentality, evolution of public space)
