New research on Troia and the Troad in the 2nd millennium BC has made it possible to asses cultural and topographical development of the then Troad anew and more accurately. The local Middle Bronze Age and Late Bronze Age period will be defined first, followed by the pottery-wares, as well as the size and types of the settlements. In the next step, emerging settlement-patterns will be discussed, with a special attention paid to chronological fine tuning of the assessment.
Finally, new chemical analyses of the pottery will be presented, leading to the definition of two ceramic production and distribution centres in the western Troad.
