The research of information literacy among students involved in non-medical disciplines on the bachelor level at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague was conducted in October and November 2013. It focussed upon ascertaining how the students search for information, which types of resources they prefer, how they evaluate their actual abilities and knowledge when looking for scientific information, how they perceive information literacy lessons at the 1st Medical Faculty and which superstructural services offered by its Institute of Scientific Information as well as by General University Hospital in Prague they make use of.
The research compares particular responses of newly admitted students who have started the first grade course "Introduction to Scientific Research" with those of second and third grade after the completion of said course.
