A Knot in the Handkerchief: Memory and the Narrative Construction of History

Abstract

Following the allegory of a knotted handkerchief, the chapter search the common points of memory studies and the narrativistic critic of historiography. It foccuses to the similarities of both paradigms, compare their relations and map their position in cultural studies.
