The book explores cultural memory of the Czech society. It reflects on the Czech national history from the methodological perspective of cultural memory studies, it draws inspiration from concepts of public history and media theory.
The key period of the research lies mainly in the era after 1989 and the key memory events are those of broader public and social impact and connection to plurimedial network. Particular case studies mapping memory events survey, for example, the dispute over the cathedral that escalated at the turn of the years 1994 and 1995.
Another case study deals with polemics over the first post-revolutionary broadcasting of the series Thirty Cases of Major Zeman in 1999. There is a case study analysing viewers'interest in the television series Vyprávěj (broadcasted by Czech TV, the first episode in 2009) which resonated as a memory event within the plurimedial network.
