Abstract

The introduction in the study characterizes the term quality of life and problems associated with the research of the quality of life in children. There are still most commonly used questionnaires that ask children to quality of life from the perspective of adults and in adult's vocabulary to detect the notion of children.

This research cares about what children think themselves, what ideas they have and what words they think about the quality of life. The probe was performed in 88 pupils in the 5th grade of elementary school, i.e. children aged 10 to 11 years.

Three methods were used: semi-structured writing children's views, children's drawings bad, normal and excellent life of children, and interview with 23 pupils. Results showed that children are sensitive to the problems associated with quality of life, considering the quality of life in a broader context.

It would be considered as significant finding that the statements characterized as so-called great life of peers are not always positive. They point out the negative behavior of those children whose family is above average material security.
