Plant Uptake and Translocation of 223-Ra as a Potential Radiopharmaceutical Nuclide

Publication

Abstract

The radiopharmaceutical therapy plays the important role in treatment of cancer diseases and often makes possible healing or life prolongation at malignant prognosis. At present the new radionuclide 223-Ra is introduced as radiopharmaceutical nuclide.

Because the total recovery of radioactive material at therapy is impossible, the fate of such radioactive complexes in the environment is investigated. Using in vitro cultivated plants the penetration of radioactivity into plants is documented.
