Cancer stem cells - possibility of targeted therapy of ovarian cancer?

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2015

Abstract

Ovarian cancer remains one of the most lethal gynecologic cancers. There is no progress in overall survival or disease free interval despite medical advances.

The cancer stem cells (CSCs) hypothesis is becoming more widely accepted as a model for carcinogenesis. It is assumed that cancer stem cells research could provide novel target therapeutics.

This review presents a current knowledge of cancer stem cells in ovarian cancer.
